Option 1
Straight tuck-end carton
The standard retail carton: glued side seam, tuck top and bottom. Fast to pack and economical to freight.
Box type
A folding carton ships flat, which keeps freight and storage costs down and makes it the practical choice for retail shelf products and first production runs. It prints well on one or both sides, and it can be produced on a short run without a rigid box assembly step.
Not on the list? The construction does not change — the board, insert and finish do. Send the product details and we will tell you which of these options fits.
Each option changes the dieline, the assembly time and the unit cost. We quote the two that fit your brief rather than all four.
Option 1
The standard retail carton: glued side seam, tuck top and bottom. Fast to pack and economical to freight.
Option 2
Top and bottom flaps fold in opposite directions, which suits automated packing lines.
Option 3
An auto-lock base that takes weight without glue. Common for bottles and jars.
Option 4
A printed sleeve over a tray, for products that need a two-part pack without rigid board.
Material and finish are specified per project and confirmed on the sample. Where a material claim matters — recycled content, plastic-free insert — the specification states what the material is, so the claim can be checked rather than assumed.
Fixed specification, then dieline, then sample, then bulk — in that order.
Product, quantity, channel and date fixed. Itemised quote issued.
Dieline PDF issued with your artwork placed and finishing marked.

At the same size it usually costs less, because it uses lighter board and no hand assembly. Whether it is the right choice depends on the product value and the retail channel, not only the unit price.
Yes, on the reverse of the board. It is common for promo codes, usage notes or a short brand statement that appears when the carton is opened.
